I didn’t realise, after a year and a bit of blogging, I haven’t actually spoken about the person behind the blog (that much). Considering I’ve run out of (a.k.a not really planned. At. All) Blogtober post ideas, I thought the focus of today’s post would be ME!
For those of you who haven’t read my lengthy About Me page, I’ll fill you in. I’m 22 years old and I’m from the North West of England, a place which I guess can be characterised by length rain spells and most of the people living there waiting for their ticket out.
I personally love Liverpool. Though I do think it’d sometimes be better to live somewhere sunny, I do have a soft spot for the place I grew up in.
Aside from being a proud Liverpudlian (though, where football is concerned, I don’t have much to be proud of regarding recent results!), I’m also an English graduate. I finished my degree this year, so now I’m playing the waiting game: waiting for the perfect job to come along (and take me on!). It’s not been kind so far!
I’m also a book lover, which I guess comes through in my book reviews and posts about books (1, 2, 3, 4). My favourite book (up to now) is either Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronté or All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. I read a fair bit and my love of books and the written word has inspired me to write my own – something I’ll probably write a post about soon!
I’m an avid baker. I’ve posted a few recipes on this blog over the years, and I love cookery shows, so I’m constantly inspired. I’m by no means a Bake Off contestant, but I like getting creative and being able to taste stuff afterwards! My favourite thing to make is rocky road, although I do make a good crumble and Victoria sponge.
I love music. I’ve written about what I’ve been listening to, and I love making playlists. I try to go to gigs as often as possible, and my first ever gig was the Jonas Brothers (no regrets!).
If you couldn’t guess already, or don’t follow me on Twitter, I’m single. I think there’s a fair bit of pressure on people to find the “One” and, honestly, it scares me I won’t. I’ve tried dating, and I’ve tried dating apps, and it’s all terrifying and exciting and soul destroying. I would like to experience all the joys of a relationship but, really, I think I also need to enjoy life on my own and figure myself out. (Though, if you’re lovely and also single, I don’t mind negotiating!).
Right, I’m kind of sick of writing about me! So, if you still want to keep up with all things ‘me’, keep your eyes on this blog.

Great post, Jen. I don’t write about myself a lot on my blog, maybe because I’m not very interesting lol.
I always love visiting Liverpool, such a nice place to go! The football results have been great from my point of view 😉
Good luck with your writing!
And I’m single as well. It doesn’t worry me much, only sometimes when I’m experiencing something myself and not sharing it with someone else. ☺

Aw thank you for reading! I’m not very interesting either. I mean I don’t understand football at all but I can guess our teams not doing great! Ah thank you, it’s a slow process but I’ll get there eventually. I’m trying not to let that worry me too much, it’s just weird sometimes when I think about it! 😂

Liverpool is one of my favourite places in the world and I have so many fond memories of it from when I was a kid. I always feel a little more at home if I can hear a few Scouse accents nearby.
