I started this series of posts two weeks ago (you can read the two posts: here) to share things I’m thankful for each week. It’s a scary and uncertain time but there’s still good in the world.
Getting health issues sorted
I know I couldn’t have picked a worse time but, during this quarantine, I’ve done something I should’ve done a while back. I’m still unsure of what exactly is going on, but I’ve had a few blood tests so far and tablets etc to help a particular problem (I may talk about it on the blog one day, but I’m not sure yet!). I’ve delayed getting it sorted for ages but, even though blood tests are uncomfortable and not knowing what’s up is unbearable at times, I’m glad I’m one step closer to doing whatever needs to be done to sort things out.
Conversations with friends
We may have deleted the ill-fated Houseparty app but I’m still thankful that friends get in touch however they can and conversations still go ahead even if the circumstances are far from normal.
I said in my Goals for 2020 post at the start of the year that I wanted to learn a language. As I visit Spain a lot, and have basic knowledge of the language from school, I thought I’d give Spanish a go. I’ve been using Duolingo (which I recommend) and, even though I’m by no means fluent, I feel a lot more confident with the language than I thought I would.
Days in the garden
British weather is never on our side, that’s for sure. Saying that, this week, the weather has been lovely (apart from one day when we got caught in the rain walking the dog!). I’ve been so thankful to feel a bit of sun on my skin and get myself out of the house and into the garden for a slight change of scenery.
Feeling better about my body
I’ve talked about body positivity on this blog before and how it’s a struggle to feel positive sometimes. This current situation has given me more time to think about things, including my body. My body isn’t perfect but, honestly, there’s more to life than what we look like and I might as well take this time to appreciate myself more.
In a time that definitely has no chill, there’s still plenty on Netflix. I’m currently watching Nailed It! and whatever else might make me laugh in this unsettling and uncertain time.
What are you grateful for this week? I’d love to chat in the comments 😊
