The Gratitude Diaries #6

A few weeks ago, I started a series of posts called ā€œThe Gratitude Diariesā€. Everything is a bit up in the air at the moment, the news seems to be bleaker than ever, so I thought I’d write these posts to remind myself – when I look back on these times, which I more than likely will- that it wasn’t all bad.

(I’ll link the previous posts at the bottom of this one).

Working from home

Up to now, I had been furloughed from the job I’ve had since the end of last year. I was incredibly grateful for that, as they could’ve just said it wasn’t worth paying weekend staff. This week, I found out that they are now rolling out the facilities to work from home. It’s going to be weird when I eventually start back working, after not doing so for a while, but I’m going to try and be as grateful as possible when everything starts up again.

The ability to get tested

I know our testing facilities aren’t great in the U.K. but, thanks to my Dad’s key worker status, my parents were able to get tested after showing symptoms. As we expected, they have tested positive. Though it’s not ideal for any of us, I’m glad they were able to get access to a test as they know to take things slower than usual now.

Getting started on my ARCs

I’ve never received ARCs before. Thanks to NetGalley though (and my inability to stop reading), I’ve found myself a wealth of books to get myself into. I think I made the mistake of applying for too many but, as I read the stories that I was accepted to read, as of now I have no regrets!

Spending more time with my sister

Without the Coronavirus crisis, my sister would’ve been graduated and on her way to be working right now. Whilst I’m gutted that she might not be able to graduate properly and working is delayed, I’m made up that we’ve been able to spend a lot of time together.

Rewatching old shows

I’ve used this one before so I apologise for the repetition! At the minute, I’m loving rewatching Series 2 of The End of the F***ing World and starting from the beginning of Parks and Recreation

What are you grateful for this week? I’d love to chat in the comments! 😊

If you need someone to chat to, if things feel a bit much (or, quite simply, if you want to talk about something other than Coronavirus!), you can find me on Twitter, Instagram and Goodreads
