Music Mondays #20

Here we are, the 20th Music Mondays post and the first one of a new month.

It only feels right in February, a month filled with love, that I share 5 tracks I’ve been listening to (and loving). So, let’s get into it, shall we?

Caro, Cat’s Pyjamas

I’d never heard of the Leeds based trio but I think this song – taken from their latest album Burrows – is a great place to start.

Cats Pyjamas is exciting, full of energy and fun, despite the morbid lyrics. They reminded me of a combination of Bombay Bicycle Club and Everything Everything – two bands I am a big fan of.

The Wants, Fear My Society

I’d never heard of the Detroit based trio but I think this song – taken from their album Container – is an ideal starting point.

The song is post-punk, full of catchy guitar riffs and moody lyrics, and it definitely speaks to how a lot of us feel in – well – society.

Coach Party, Really OK on My Own

The Isle of Wight based band was a recent find for me and I’m glad I found them.

The song is guitar heavy, with moody vocals which feel reminiscent of Pale Waves, and I feel like this definitely belongs in a cool, independent movie.

Father John Misty, Real Love Baby

This is my second Father John Misty song on the playlist and – I’ll be honest – my personal favourite.

It’s slow, it’s chilled and it definitely allows you to take full advantage of the vocals. Plus, when holidays are eventually allowed, this is made for chilling out in the sunshine.

Biig Piig, Feels Right

This song was a recent find for me as, up until I found this song, I’d never heard of the Spanish-Irish-Londoner.

It’s crazy that I found this song at the exact time I needed a pick-me-up because that’s exactly what this song does. It’s fun, full of energy and you’ll definitely want to hear it over and over again.
