So weâve made it through another month đ! As always, the (almost) end of the month means another wrap-up post (you can read my previous posts here, here and here).
April was a fun month. After ages of being stuck in the house, I was able to meet up with friends and get little snippets of normal life back. I also continued to work from home – though a return to the office is tipped for later in the year – and took myself out of my comfort zone a lot by doing my first interview with a band. This month also saw one of my best friends move to London and, whilst itâs sad to not have the luxury of her living not far from me, I couldnât be prouder of her taking that step.
Anyway, before I get too soppy, letâs get into what I watched, read and listened to this month, shall we?

Starting with TV shows, the first show I watched was the fifth and sixth season of Schittâs Creek. This series was a bit of a slow burn for me but I really saw the humour, heart and charm in the final two seasons.
Next up, I watched The One. If youâve followed this blog for a while, youâll know I havenât found âThe Oneâ (or anyone long term!) on my dating journey so far but I definitely wouldnât use my DNA to find a match like this show did. I havenât read the book this is based on so I went into it blind but I did think it was an interesting concept and the curious part of me will definitely be tuning into the next series.
I also watched series two of Misfits this month. I think itâs getting a bit Riverdale with its utterly bizarre story lines but that doesnât stop me from being interested in how this series will develop (plus early 2000s Robert Sheehan đđ).
Following this, I watched the latest series of Nailed It! This is one of my not-so-guilty pleasure shows and it has me laughing every time. There was a twist in the latest series though as teams of two competed to create marvellous bakes (of course this didnât stop them from being shocking!).
I also raced through the first two seasons of Below Deck on Netflix. I started watching Below Deck Mediterranean first, then completely forgot about it (now thereâs hardly any episodes available to watch!), then I stumbled across the original series on Netflix. Itâs trashy telly at best but itâs also a very interesting insight into this kind of lifestyle both from the workerâs perspective and the clientâs.
Now onto films đ„ đż. The first movie I watched was Fatale. Admittedly, this was one of those nights where youâre just not paying attention but the little snippets I did tune in for were fast paced and exciting.
The next movie I watched was The Last Right. I love an Irish film or tv show and this one didnât disappoint. It was funny, sweet and tender.
Following this, I watched Greta. This was a film Iâve wanted to watch for ages but never got round to. Even though you could predict where it was heading, it didnât stop it from being suspenseful.
Next, I watched Thunder Force. This one wasnât quite laugh out loud but I did love this story of friendship and super powers, plus it was nice to have women as the heroes for once!
Following this, I watched Super Intelligence. This one was a funny, easy watch which – weirdly – featured AI voiced by James Cordon (the film industry will truly think of anything!).
The last film I watched this month was Itâs Kind of a Funny Story. Anyone whose read the book will know itâs actually not a funny story but I did appreciate the little threads of humour in this film. I think some of the attitudes to mental health and mental health facilities were a bit problematic but this film was still a enjoyable, though sometimes tricky, watch.

Iâve posted what I hope to read next month but – in spirit of this being a wrap-up post – Iâll reflect on this monthâs reading. April was an ok reading month. I read 7 books in total – some for blog tours and others just to make space on my NetGalley shelf!
The first book I read this month was The Ends of the Earth by Abbie Greaves (I also posted a Q&A here). It was a sweet, tender, but heart wrenching book about longing, love and male mental health.
The next book I read this month was The Road Trip by Beth OâLeary. It was a second chance romance with car journeys, revisiting the past and just a little bit of Taylor Swift mixed in.
Following this, I read Invisible by Lindsay Woodward. Youâll be able to read my full thoughts on this one on my Blog Tour date next month (20th May).
After that, I read Kate in Waiting by Becky Albertalli. Youâll be able to read my full thoughts on this one on my Blog Tour date next month (tomorrow!).
Once I finished that, I read Unbreak Your Heart by Katie Marsh. It was sweet, tender and a little bit emotional at times.
Following this, I read Grown Ups by Marie Aubert. Youâll be able to read my full thoughts on this one on my Blog Tour date in June (22nd).
The final book I read this month was Bad Choices by Lucy Vine. Youâll be able to read my full thoughts when I post my review on publication day for this book.

If youâve been following my blog for some time, youâll know music is a massive part of my life and I post about it a fair bit. I havenât been very organised with posting but I did post a few Music Mondays posts.
As well as those posts, my favourite release this month was Infinite Pleasure by The Pale White.

So thatâs it, my monthly wrap-up for March. Iâd love to chat about what you read, watched and listened to this month.

You can find me (and more things books, baking and everything in between) on:
I love Misfits so much! Itâs really worth the watch you just have to go with how strange it is đ I read Kate in Waiting last month too and loved it!
