If you’re new to these posts, or simply need a refresher, I use this series to showcase 5 tracks I’ve been listening to (and loving) at the moment.
Blossoms, Everything About You
Considering the fact that these are one of my favourite bands, it surprises me to say this is only the second Blossoms track on the playlist.
Taken from their latest album, Ribbon Around The Bomb, this tune is full of upbeat guitar and the signature Stockport drawl — I can’t wait to hear it live (multiple times!) this year!
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Magenta Mountain
Hard to say after a few drinks, but very easy to listen to, comes this track from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
Taken from their latest album, Omnium Gatherum, the song is full of woozy synths and whispery vocals — the kind of song you can’t help but listen to on repeat.
Arcade Fire, Unconditional I (Lookout Kid)
Again, I’m surprised these — one of my favourite bands — have only made the playlist today.
Taken from their recent album, WE, this track is a gorgeous mingling of acoustic guitar and infectious vocals — the kind of track you can’t help but dance to (even if, like me, you can’t dance!).
Billy Nomates, Blue Bones
This is my second track by this artist on the playlist and it’s a good one.
I found this one when I was still reeling from the end of my situationship and it was just the musical tonic I needed.
Good Future, RIDE
If you’re a TikTok user, you’ll probably know of Good Future. If not, get to know!
I found this one, his latest single, today and I love the instrumentals in it — it’s such a good track to get you through the worst day of the week…or any day of the week, to be fair!
