Music Mondays #57

In case you missed it, Music Mondays is back! This is the place to be if you’re after 5 tracks to listen to right now, guaranteed to get you through the rest of the first (and worst) day of the week.

Car Boot Sale, Headhouse

If there’s anything that’ll get you through Monday, it’s something that’s easy to listen to and this track by London based five piece CarBootSale is just that.

It’s stripped back indie at its best, the kind of song you can easily stick on in the background and I think it’d be perfect for blasting in the garden (once the weather decides what it’s doing anyway!).

Spector, Felony

After waiting a while, I finally got to see London indie-rockers Spector in Manchester in April. They didn’t sing this song though…

Regardless, the track is full of upbeat instrumentals and the witty, tongue-in-cheek lyrics the band are known for.

Soak, swear jar

The rainy weather calls for chilled listening and soak always fits the bill.

The song is full of acoustic guitar and rich vocals, the kind I think wouldn’t have gone amiss in the depressing teen movies I used to love (I still do, just don’t want to admit it!).

Metronomy, The Bay

Music is a great sense of comfort for me and this is just one of many, many songs that I turn to when things feel a bit..stale.

The track is so infectious, full of catchy instrumentals and vocals you can’t help but sing along to (even if, when hearing it and yourself live, you realise you sound like a strangled cat!).

Trudy and the Romance, Is There a Place I Can Go

I might yo-yo between swearing off dating and wanting nothing more than to (gasp!) catch feelings for someone, but I have to admit I’m a sucker for a romantic song and this one fits the bill.

The song is relaxing and catchy, the perfect one to ease you into the week ahead.

What have you been listening to at the moment? I’d love to chat and share recommendations!
