Music Mondays #60

We’ve almost made it through the worst day of the week! In between reading plenty of good books like this one and this one, I’m making sure I enjoy some good tunes because nothing makes a Monday (or any day, really) more bearable than a great song or two.

Lucky for you, I’ll be showing off not one, not two but five songs I’ve been listening to recently.

Alfie Templeman, Colour Me Blue

After a day of work, and still feeling pretty delicate after seeing The Killers in Manchester over the weekend, there’s nothing I like more than listening to something chill and this song fits the bill.

Taken from Templeman’s latest album, Mellow Moon, the track is full of fun guitar hooks and a floaty acoustic feel.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs (featuring Perfume Genius), Spitting Off The Edge of the World

There’s a long list of people I wish I was and Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is one of them.

A tease of what’s to come, this track deserves to be played at a ridiculously loud volume and repeated as often as possible (before neighbours get angry!).

Suki Waterhouse, Good Looking

I’ve definitely joined the queue of people eagerly/anxiously waiting for the TV adaption of Daisy Jones & The Six , starring Suki Waterhouse amongst others.

There’s a bluesy, rock feel to this track and it really builds towards the end.

Pixey, Come Around (Sunny Day)

I love finding local talent and Pixey just happens to be pretty good.

The track feels like something out of an early 2000s teen movie and is drenched in sunlight, even if British weather can’t make its mind up.

Katy J Pearson, Alligator

A tease of her upcoming album, this track is upbeat and catchy.

The track is perfect for sunny days lounging around.

What have you been listening to at the moment? I’d love to chat and share recommendations!
