Monthly Wrap-Up: July

It seems we are absolutely racing through this year, aren’t we? As always, as a new month approaches, I’m reflecting on this one. I managed to get myself some sun this month as I escaped to Spain for plenty of sun, sea and apparently only tanning certain sections of my body. I also made some single girl friends at a singles event, which I will get to writing a post about next month, and I’m ending my month seeing a local band I love – The Zutons.

I haven’t watched much TV this month, but I did watch at least one show that’s worth taking about and that is Stranger Things. I eagerly waited for the final part of the season and, now I’ve thought about it, it was worth the wait (I’ve also joined a long line of Joseph Quinn fan girls). After that, I finished the sixth season of Below Deck and —- I’m assuming — by the time you read this, I’ll have finished the seventh. I finished off the month by watching Wolf Like Me, which was bizarre to say the least.

I watched four films this month, starting with Jojo Rabbit. It’s a film I can watch over and over as it makes me laugh and makes me cry, which must prove it’s good! I rewatched an old, if now slightly tainted, favourite Horrible Bosses and ended the month with two films I hadn’t seen before: In A Relationship and Brian and Charles.

I thought I hadn’t read any books this month but, when I consulted my list, I realised I’d got through 7! I started the month off with The Last First Date (full thoughts coming next month), then Cat Lady (again, my full thoughts are coming soon).

I then read 3 books on holiday and 2 once I got back! I finally got around to reading Book Lovers and read two upcoming releases YellowFace and Bad Fruit. After that, I read Last Time We Met and rounded my month off with the thrilling dystopian read The Grace Year.

I’ve once again been slacking on my Music Mondays posts but you can rest assured that I’ve still been listening to plenty of tunes this month, including the latest track from Two Door Cinema Club and the latest from Liverpool singer-songwriter Pixey .

So that’s another wrap up done! Don’t forget to check out my previous wrap up posts and follow the blog and socials to keep up to date with all things Jen Rose Writes!
